Christmas 2007 - Here at Home

We took Pierce, Grandma and Grandpa Baker, and Aunt D and Uncle J to the Trail of Lights. We went on a night it was super windy which made it pretty cold. Pierce didn't even want to walk - he was ok with being in his stroller. So we walked through the lights pretty fast - but the lights were great and Pierce really enjoyed looking at them all.

The Christmas Season

We took lots of pictures during the holiday - so I am just now getting to go through them and post some. We had a wonderful Christmas and hope you did too!

Pierce loved counting down the days to Christmas with this gift from grandma and grandpa Baker. Each door had a special little something just for him.

Pierce has a thing for tools now and his tool belt. In fact we have had a few days where the tool belt does not come off - meaning he wears it all day - yes that means to naps, out to stores, and to bed. He loves to "build houses" when we are out an about at stores.

One of Pierce's favorite shows is Blues Clues. Well even after the show is over, he will get his notebook and look for clues around the house and write them in his notebook. He has a great imagination. This has become a frequent activity in the house that the first notebook started falling apart and each page had been colored on many times. Santa did bring him some new notebooks thankfully :)

Another daily activity in the Nowell household is playing football. Pierce runs around the house holding the football and will then come tackle you and say touchdown. This picture also shows how Pierce had to have a Santa hat (after seeing a few people out at stores wearing it). He wore this hat for a few days everywhere as well. He loved Christmas! However, he refused to sit on Santa's lap this year - so no Santa picture for us. But he did have us create a list for Santa of the things he wanted.

Jam On

Pierce was so excited to get Dad's guitar out and play it. It was amazing to us that he just picked the guitar up and held it the way you are supposed to and played the strings. He sings a song occasionally too. Lately it has been jingle bells. He loves playing the piano and drums as well. Rock on!

Thanksgiving Spirit

Well it is a little late, but we couldn't resist this cute picture of Pierce in the Thanksgiving spirit! Hope you had a good gobble gobble day!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to everyone! We hope you had a great one! We were able to persuade Pierce to put on his dragon costume that he had to have for the night to head out to trick-or-treat. Once we got out on the street and he saw how many kids were dressed up he was ok and he understood which houses we went to - "light on". So we went around a little loop of houses by our house and he and dad would go up to the doors and he would say trick or treat so quietly and thank you. Once we got home and started passing out candy he loved to give it to other kids. And when kids weren't at the door, he would yell outside moreThe rest of the night he just wanted to eat candy :) 10/31

Dallas Arboretum

Pierce loved the pumpkins, especially moving them around.

Anytime there is hay, Pierce loves it. He loves to play with it and then in this instance, jumping off of it into more of it.

Pierce loves to fish and this fish pond with this rock was the perfect place to pretend to fish.

The "daddy dear" with "horns" was very interesting to Pierce.

After the adventure, with in 5 minutes of riding in the car, Pierce passed out.

With our trip to Lubbock we decided to also stop by the Arboretum in Dallas. It was so beautiful and all the pumpkins were amazing. We had a great time there and got to see J's mom as well which was nice. 10/29

Go Tech Go

For our vacation this year we headed to Lubbock to watch a Tech game. We had Pierce so excited about Tech that every time he saw a double T or even red he would get his guns up and say "Go Tech Go" over and over again. So we were so excited to take him there. We went to the game and actually got to stay there for the whole game (had to do some bribing with food for that though), went to 50th Street Caboose and One Guys (of course brought some calzones home). Lubbock has changed so much since we were back last - it is crazy! Hopefully we will go back sooner than later. GO TECH! 10/26-10/27

Pumpkin Patch Visits

Pierce really enjoyed the trips to the pumpkin patch - especially playing on all the different props. This tractor was a hit! 10/13

News in Austin

As many of you have heard the big news here in Austin, we are expecting our second child. The due date is 5/5/08. We are all very excited!

Silly times

Pierce never seems to have a day where he doesn't make us laugh. Here is a picture of one day where he had to wear glasses - and not just any glasses - Mr Potato head's glasses! And then had to wear them to climb a ladder.

Labor Day - Let's head to the Waco Zoo

For Labor Day we decided to make a road trip up to the Waco Zoo. We weren't sure what to expect, but we heard it was a great zoo. Pierce was so excited to go! We will have to say the zoo is very nice and for what you get to see and how much there is to do it is a great zoo - and it is a great price to get in! Pierce barely sat in his stroller the whole time we were there - he wanted to walk everywhere. He loved all the animals! We will definitely be going back!

What is so much fun is that through out the zoo, they have little places for the kids to play, slide, etc. Pierce had a blast. Here he is sliding down a slide from a tree house.

D's 30th and Pierce's 2nd Birthday Party

We invited friends and family to a birthday party to celebrate D's 30th birthday party and to celebrate Pierce's 2nd birthday party. It was also to break in the new patio! It was a great party with wonderful friends and family and fantastic food! Summer 2007 fun

Pierce absolutely loved the water park this year. There was a kid slide that he went down over a 100 times I swear. We floated the lazy river, and the best part were these water guns he could aim and spray people with. 8/13/07

Pierce had a birthday party with all his friends at the neighborhood pool. We have been so blessed to have met so many great friends here in Austin and thank everyone for coming to celebrate this joyous day with us. Aunt D's visit
